Kellie Bright has teased what EastEnders viewers can expect from this year’s “explosive” Christmas episode, which will see her co-star Danny Dyer leave the soap after nine years.
The 46-year-old actress, who plays Linda Carter, has already filmed her final scenes with Danny, 45, who portrays her estranged husband Mick Carter.
And she hopes his departure from Walford will open up new possibilities for her character as she remains as a single mother of two children, one of whom she shares with Max Branning.

She told The Mirror: “We just finished filming for Christmas so I just finished working with him so it doesn’t feel that unusual right now because obviously we weren’t together all the time anyway .
“I still talk to him most days! So right now it doesn’t feel too bad, but it’s obviously going to be different.
“I’m pretty excited to see how it could be for Linda now. Of course she’ll be sad for a while because she’s there without him, but it’s like she has a blank canvas, this new chapter for her, and I honestly don’t know what they have in store for her.

It comes after Kellie said she shed “a lot of tears” over Danny’s exit from EastEnders.
The star admits Danny’s departure from the show feels like “the end” for Mick and Linda.
She said: “There were a lot of tears on and off the screen of mine but I spoke to him almost every day – the reality is he’s still my friend and will still be in my life. It’s the end of a chapter.
Starring: Kellie plays Queen Vic’s landlady, Linda Carter, who will remain on the soap opera as a single mother of two
“I’m not very good at saying goodbye in the best of times and everything about that job was me and him, it felt like the end.”
Kellie teased Danny’s departure earlier this year as the love triangle between Mick, Linda and Mick’s fiancé Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) leads to the departure of Queen Vic’s landlady.
She added to OK! added, “I can tell you it involves Danny’s exit from the show, I can tell you it’s a combination of the Mick, Janine and Linda triangle.”
Earlier this year, Danny admitted the door was left open for him to return to the show.
Speaking on his Sorted With The Dyers podcast in January, he said: “Let me tell you something – Mick’s exit is going to be a very, very powerful thing. I would love it if the door was left open and as far as I know it is.
‘Well who knows. If I go out there and fail miserably, I can come back with my tail between my legs and say, “Will you take me back?”
“But I just want to send a little love to everyone at EastEnders. I love you all very much.
“It’s going to be a sad year for me, but I’m also really looking forward to it. So we’re going to attack this year and we’re going to make this year one hell of a special year.’
