Kelly Clarkson, talk show host, music superstar and now former The Voice coach, had big news for fans when she announced that her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, would be shifting airtime.

Instead of later in the day, the show now airs at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Clarkson was given the space previously used by The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The change has been announced since May 2021 when NBC released a statement on the matter.

Clarkson is pleased with the time slot change

Clarkson appeared on “Chicago today‘ on July 1 to talk about her talk show.

“We’re, we’re very excited,” she said of the move to the time slots. “And it’s just been said to me, you know, I’m forgetting that this new time slot for us is, you know, we’re the prelude to the news, so I think it’s kind of perfect because our whole show is it To introduce people to people who achieve amazing things.”

She added, “You know, whether they’re heroes in their community or heroes worldwide, we shine a light on really positive things because I feel like we don’t get that often.”

Clarkson added that the news “isn’t usually great” and her show is a juxtaposition to that. She also talked about raising money for artists and other things that make her feel good.

“It feels good to know that these people exist,” Clarkson said.

Clarkson was “startled” when her show started

Clarkson revealed during the interview that she was afraid she wouldn’t be a good talk show host.

“Because I’m such a talker, I engage and throw in a lot, which is so rude,” she said, adding that the show made her a better listener.

She added: “And it’s made me a better person. It’s fun engaging with people, but it’s also fun to see what people are saying when you’re not interfering all the time.”

Clarkson went through a public divorce.

During an appearance atThe Chart Show with Brooke Reese‘ Clarkson opened up about her divorce.

“It was the hardest thing to find your way around,” she shared. “I’ve never had such a difficult project.”

She reminded the host that she’s still human and “I’m going through something big right now.”

“Everyone knows the big divorce I went through and it was like two years and not easy with kids,” she shared. “I only navigate with what I would like to publish. So it’s just difficult to navigate.”

She added that her new music is coming soon. It could be that she plans to release the album with the music she has been working on since her divorce. Fans have been waiting for the project for over a year.

“I just need to get my crap together,” she said. “I just have to figure out what I’m going to release. I have never had such a difficult project.”

The Voice is slated to return to NBC in fall 2022. The season will be accompanied by coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello and John Legend.
