The Voice trainer, TV host and music superstar Kelly Clarkson has spoken openly to her fans about her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Now she’s opening up even more and sharing why it’s been difficult for her.

Clarkson, 40, filed for divorce in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The couple have two children together. The divorce was finalized on March 8, 2022.

Clarkson says their divorce wasn’t easy

During an appearance atThe Chart Show with Brooke Reese‘ Clarkson opened up about her divorce.

“It was the hardest thing to find your way around,” she shared. “I’ve never had such a difficult project.”

She reminded the host that she’s still human and “I’m going through something big.”

“Everyone knows the big divorce I went through and it was like two years and not easy with kids,” she shared. “I only navigate with what I would like to publish. So it’s just difficult to navigate.”

She added that her new music is coming soon. It could be that she plans to release the album with the music she has been working on since her divorce. Fans have been waiting for the project for over a year.

“I just need to get my crap together,” she said. “I just have to figure out what I’m going to release. I have never had such a difficult project.”

Will Kelly Clarkson return to The Voice?

Kelly Clarkson won’t be returning to The Voice for season 22, but that doesn’t mean the star is going to be off the show anytime soon.

In a recent episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show‘ Clarkson seemingly revealed her reason for leaving The Voice and explained why it may not be a permanent split.

She was interviewing country music legend Faith Hill when she realized she was working constantly.

“You’re working on your dick, girl,” Hill told Clarkson.

Clarkson replied, “I’m taking the summer off, I’m very excited.”

“It’s my first summer off since I was about sixteen,” she said.

Since The Voice will be filming in the summer into fall, that’s probably why Clarkson isn’t planning a return for season 22. However, the show may have a schedule change that will allow Clarkson to return in Spring 2023 instead.

The talk show host was the host of “American Song Contest,” which aired on NBC in the time slot previously occupied by “The Voice” but has yet to be extended.

There are indications that the singing competition show could go back to two seasons a year.

On May 31, 2022Her “The Voice” casting announced a new casting call on Instagram.

“VIRTUAL OPEN APPLICATION REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW”, the posted account. “Set your reminders and register tomorrow for June 8th, 9th, 21st and 22nd!”

They added, “We can’t wait to hear what you’ve got!”

They also posted the next day to remind fans to audition for the show.

One person took to Reddit to say they were confused by the open call.

“I’m a bit confused as they have already held open auditions for the upcoming season which started in October 2021 and ended in December 2021. Anyone know why that is?” the post reads. “I’ve been a bit confused since I auditioned in October and now I’m not sure what the train is.”

If that’s the case, and Clarkson is just taking the summer off projects, then it’s certainly possible she’ll be back in her big red coaching chair before fans have too much time to miss her.

The Voice is slated to return to NBC in fall 2022. The season will be accompanied by coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello and John Legend.
