Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd said she wasn’t invited to a gig because of a joke she made on social media.
According to Dodd, her previously scheduled appearance at King Sunday, an LGBTQ event in West Hollywood, is no longer after she was asked not to attend the event.

Kelly Dodd slams King Sunday for canceling her ‘Intolerance is so sad and counterproductive’
Cancel cultural strikes again,” she wrote on Instagram. “I was looking forward to hosting this event with my very good friend @djryankenney but it seems some people have lost their sense of humor… swipe right to see why I was disinvited. The intolerance is so sad and counterproductive as we cannot have conversations and share thoughts and perspectives when we are not together. I love all people and just wish tolerance worked both ways. The hypocrisy is real!!! #cancelculture #rhoc #rickkellyunmasked”
Several fans commented on the post on Instagram in favor of Dodd.
“The hypocrisy is certainly REAL. Thank you, however, for standing firm in your beliefs. Love you and Rick!” wrote one fan.
“I saw the meme yesterday and had a good laugh! bc it’s true!” commented another fan.
“The truth really hurts people’s feelers!!! If they don’t like what you post, they should unfollow you or keep scrolling,” one wrote.
But the fans on her Twitter post announcing the news weren’t that understanding.
“It’s that some things just aren’t meant to be joked about.” A fan tweeted. “If people made jokes at the expense of your daughter, I think you would have a problem with that, because that subject should be taboo. If we were joking about your daughter, would you say America can’t take any more jokes?”
“A. That wasn’t funny”, Another fan tweeted. “B. It’s offensive to people in the LGBTQIA community C. Thanks to TFG (DJT), people now find it ‘funny’ to make fun of/laugh at others who are different. It’s hateful and divisive. Find better ones jokes.”
“*sticks finger in socket* OH MY GOD, WHY DID I ONLY BE SHOT?!?!? You’re not the brightest star in the sky, but we already knew that Kelly.” someone said.
Kelly Dodd posted a cartoon mocking transgender people, provoking reactions from fans: “What’s wrong with you? This is transphobic AF’
The post in question was a meme that made fun of transgender people by showing a woman’s cartoon groin that has evolved over the years. She announced that she would be attending King Sunday on April 8th, posting the meme shortly after and announcing her removal on April 9th.
Fans weren’t happy with Dodd when she released the original cartoon.
“Reason 100,001 why you got fired from Bravo. Searching for help,” someone tweeted.
Back then Dodd replied to this tweet letter, “Do you disagree with my post? Or are you like everyone else who laughs but doesn’t want to admit it!!”
“A lot of things are funny … that’s not one of them.” someone said.
“Those who joke about it end up somehow getting confronted with it first-hand… It sure isn’t going to age well in Kelly’s life.” someone tweeted.
“The saddest part is that you seem to think this is funny.” one person tweeted.
“Sinking to new lows every day. Shame on you,” someone wrote.
“What’s wrong with you? That’s transphobic AF. They never stop disappointing.” A fan tweeted.
