KGF Chapter 2 downloads are increasing despite claims of illegal recordings

KGF Chapter 2 has just premiered in theaters, but illegal downloads and torrents are on the rise despite positive statements from the production team.

What has already been a dramatic week for the Indian cinema industry is about to explode as fans around the world flock to cinemas for the long weekend. The movie on everyone’s lips? KGF Chapter 2.

The Yash-led action sequel has become one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, with a staggering 254 million views for the teaser trailer alone.

KGF Chapter 2 finally hit theaters this week, but the production team is already discussing illegal torrenting of the film as some viewers attempt to download the film from home.

KGF Chapter 2 suffers from leaks, torrents and downloads

After over 18 months of various coronavirus-related delays and postponements, KGF Chapter 2 finally premiered in theaters on Thursday, April 14thth2022.

However, within hours of the cinemas opening their doors to expectant fans, illegal torrent websites had already shared links to download the film.

Bollywood life first reported the leaks and reported that downloads were available on various well-known sites including Tamilrockers and Movierulz.

Unfortunately, picking movies from theaters and leaking copies online has been a major problem for Indian cinema industry especially in the last five years as these illicit streaming platforms become more popular.

As noted by DNA India, “KGF Chapter 2 is not the first film to fall victim to piracy. Movies like Beast, Attack, Radhey Shyam, RRR and Valimai used to be targets of torrent sites as well.”

Hombale Films Releases KGF Chapter 2 Download Statement

While torrenting and downloading KGF Chapter 2 is unlikely to have a significant impact on box office revenue, it is problematic for the production team and distribution partners.

Thankfully, both Hombale Films, the production company behind KGF Chapter 2, and director Neel were quick to respond to the download drama on social media. in one ExplanationHombale said that “8 years of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the development of KGF.”

“We urge you all not to record videos while watching KGF Chapter 2 in theaters and upload them to the internet. Let’s all experience the awesomeness of KGF in theaters only and not spoil it for others waiting to see it in theaters.” – Hombale Films, via Twitter.

Neel would then Split the statement and add: “The fight against piracy starts with you! Please do not make videos & photos and do not post them online! So NO to PIRACY.”

The original statement also included ways fans could report illegal downloading and torrenting links, including contacting outlets antipriacysolutions.org and blockxtech.com, as well as various WhatsApp groups.

Get ready for a big run on opening weekend

The KGF Chapter 2 movie is set to have an amazing opening weekend following its theatrical debut on Thursday April 14thth.

Corresponding MPNRCthe film has grossed over Rs 275 crore to date, Rs 12 crore domestically and Rs 165 crore internationally.

This was after an excellent opening day where KGF Chapter 2 allegedly raked in near Rs 134.6 Crore!

As a matter of fact, sacnick reports that KGF Chapter 2 has the potential to become the first-ever Kannada film to surpass Rs 1000 crores worldwide. The film has even become the fastest film to read Rs 100 crore in Hindi dubbing, beating Baahubali 2 which took three days to reach that mark.
