Liverpool extended their quadruple qualification with a win over Manchester City on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat their Premier League title rivals but this time in the FA Cup, a 3-2 win secured the Reds a place in the final of the competition.
The Anfield side, a point behind City in the Premier League with seven games to go, blew away Pep Guardiola’s side in the first 45 minutes to lead 3-0 at the break.
Klopp celebrated after the game with a series of signature jabs at the Liverpool supporters at Wembley.
However, the Germany manager has revealed he was ready to return to the dressing room before James Milner convinced him to acknowledge the Reds’ support.
He said Liverpool website after the game: “Millie told me I have to do it. I was about to leave, but Millie said, ‘You have to.’ So I did it because of Millie.
“I think at that moment it’s also really important to say because it was really special and we all felt it was really special. The atmosphere our people created here was second to none.”
Can Liverpool win the quadruple?
Well, it looks increasingly possible.
Liverpool have already won the League Cup this season and are now just 90 minutes away from a potential FA Cup win.
A point adrift of Manchester City in the Premier League and a Champions League semi-final against Villarreal, it’s definitely in sight that Klopp will lead the Reds to an unprecedented quadruple win this season.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager won’t be thinking too far ahead, but this is a special Liverpool side and if anyone can do it, they can.
