Latto’s claims have been investigated as 777 firsts
Latto, real name Alyssa Stephens, released her new multi-artist album 777 on Friday (March 25). These include 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, among others.
In a recent interview with Big Boy, the 23-year-old rapper claimed she had trouble dealing with one of the artists featured on her album.
“It’s a feature on my album that was difficult to sort out. They’re trying to rip me off for not responding to a DM.” she claimed.
“We’re like, ‘Oh, that just comes with the game being a rapper.’ No, but it shouldn’t. You know you don’t do that to your fellow male rappers!”
After Latto’s claims went viral, Kodak Black took to Twitter on March 22 No more rumours that he is the male employee Latto is referring to.
Following Kodak Black’s testimony, Latto spoke to Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM and admitted she did not intend her claims to go viral.
She explained: “My intention wasn’t to make a whole thing out of it. I just looked at it like I was a new rapper in the game. I wish someone could have given me some insight into how this stuff really works.
“You hear things like, ‘Oh, female rappers have it harder.’ But I really wanted to give a little insight into what makes it harder, especially for a female rapper. I didn’t want it to distract from the music or anything, so I kind of wish I hadn’t said that.”

Rapper’s engineer responds to claims
In the latest development of the story, Dyryk, who serves as a producer for Kodak Black and other artists, responded to Latto’s claims, which have left many fans confused as to whether the rapper in question is Kodak Black.
Dyryk wrote: “Let me explain to you what this bulls**t with @latto777 is about. She asked for a feature a while ago. We charged her our normal rate and she wanted a swap. Since her verses don’t really help us, we asked for a trade for our artist and charged her a lot less. She declined, saying she would not use the recording.”
He further claimed that Latto accepted their initial offer but turned down the artist in question.
