Kristen Doute Reevals on why she stayed with Tom Sandoval for 6 years

Tom Sandoval’s ex has spoken out.

Tom Sandoval’s ex opened up about why she’s stuck with him for so long — and why fellow ‘Vanderpump Rules’ co-star Raquel Leviss might be just what he’s looking for.

During an appearance on March 16, 2023 to “The Viall Files”, Sandoval’s ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute opened up about her broken relationship with the bar owner and his shocking cheating scandal with his co-star Leviss.

Doute and Sandoval were together for nearly six years and their split was revealed in 2013’s second season of Vanderpump Rules. Sandoval immediately started dating Ariana Madix.

While speaking with Viall, Doute said she was in awe of Madix, who was able to put up with his selfish behavior throughout their nearly 10-year relationship.

“I mean, I was with him for almost six years, we should have broken up after the second year,” admitted Doute. “Obviously we were young and broke and it was a relationship of convenience. And when Ariana and I became friends … I adored the ground she walks on for being able to handle someone who is so narcissistic and someone who needs attention and the spotlight so much.”

Doute previously complained about Sandoval in her 2020 book, “He drives you crazy.” In one chapter, she wrote that while he was “charismatic,” he was also in love with himself. “We got ready at his vanity together, and when he said, ‘You’re beautiful,’ I wondered if he was talking to me or to himself. His iron, oh his damn iron. It was his most prized possession. Would he ever look at me the way he looked at it?” she wrote.

During the interview with The Viall Files, Doute described Sandoval as “a narcissist.” “I think he’s just very self-centered and very selfish,” she said.

But when Viall asked her what it was about Sandoval and his best friend Tom Schwartz that attracted women in the first place, she came back to the fact that they were all young when they first met.

“Kati [Maloney] started dating [Schwartz] 12 years ago. Ariana started dating Tom 10 years ago and I started dating Tom six years before that. So at that time there, it’s charming, it’s cute, it’s fun, it’s easy, it’s funny,” she said. “The problem is that they never grew up.”

Doute also referenced Bravo superfan Jerry O’Connell’s comments on the matter during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in early March 2023. “Tom Sandoval — he’s not a man,” O’Connell said. per Yahoo conversation. “He’s a little boy and that’s what little boys do. Tom Schwartz is a little boy. … I want to say to Katie and Ariana, ‘Find some men. Some real men. Men want you both, trust me.’”

On Viall’s pod, Doute said the immaturity “isn’t sticking anymore” now that Sandoval and Schwartz are in their 40s. “You have to start to mature and the problem is they just chose never to grow up,” she said. “[It’s like] the Peter Pan syndrome. They refused to go to therapy, they don’t want to improve. They think they’ll get away with it forever because there will be some dumb fans and younger girls who will fall for it and give them the attention they want. Someone like Raquel.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Doute said she could see why Sandoval cheated on Leviss, whom she described as “just so dumb” with no “personality.”

“Now with hindsight I can see why I think Tom is into them or why they are. Because Ariana has a backbone. Rachel doesn’t. Raquel validates everything Tom needs to validate. How cool he is, how talented he is, his stupid band and his sequin pants and his nail polish and his stupid haircuts and that pedophile mustache, damn it.”

Doute isn’t the only one who thinks Leviss is acting like a fan of Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras frontman. Maloney previously described Leviss as a “fan girl” of Sandoval and Schwartz, who work together at bars TomTom and Schwartz and Sandy’s. After Leviss was photographed wears an oversized sweatshirt With the TomTom logo on it, Maloney responded at BravoCon in October 2022 by writing: “She’s a fan girl. Started out as a fan of the show and now a fan of the Toms.”

Leviss was also photographed wearing a lightning necklace similar to Sandoval’s and it was rumored that the matching necklaces were the secret token of their love for each other. according to page six.

During a “Watch What Happens Live” appearance on March 15, 2023, Maloney was also asked about Leviss’ fan base, and she said she believes the flash chain is a part of her fan behavior. “She wants to emulate him,” Maloney said of the former pageant queen’s necklace, which matches the jewelry Sandoval had previously worn.

Host Andy Cohen also asked Maloney if she thinks Sandoval and Leviss are in love. “At that point, they better fall in love because who’s going to date them,” she said.
