If you read any of my stories (when you should), you know I really don’t like beauty products marketed to one gender. There is almost never a need for “men’s” makeup because beauty products have sexist designs. (I’ll admit that yes some exception.) That’s why I’m excited about Kwame Onwuachi x Orly nail polish. It just makes sense. Award-winning chef James Beard and bestselling author is known for his nail polish, even when he was a contestant on Top Chef. He teamed up with Orly to create some of his favorite shades for everyone to see.

“I started doing my nails four years ago when my nieces asked me to get my nails done and I’ve been doing them ever since,” Onwuachi said in a statement. “Just like how I express myself through my food in the kitchen, style is how I express myself everywhere else and manicured nails with glossy color are part of that.”

He chose Orly for his first collaboration, in part because the nail polish lasts both in and out of the kitchen. “It was important to me to find a partner who, like me, is thoughtful and has the right standards,” he says. “For people who frequently wash their hands, the Breathable formula, which prevents waterlogging and resists chipping, peeling and cracking, fits everything I am looking for.”
