The Bravo star’s weight loss explained.

Kyle Cooke spoke about his wife Amanda Batula’s weight loss. The ‘Summer House’ star revealed it was a combination of medication changes that caused his wife’s dramatic weight loss and menstrual problems.

In an interview in March 2023 with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast Cooke, 40, said there was “obviously a lot more to it” than viewers on the Bravo reality show saw his wife’s medical struggles. In the episode “Summer House”. “A Cup of Faithful Tea”Batula, 31, who was filmed in the summer of 2022, revealed she hasn’t had a period since stopping birth control in November 2021.

“I’m going to set the record straight,” Cooke said in an interview. “Yes, stopping birth control will cause you to lose weight. It also causes your hormones to spiral out of control like you’re a teenager.”

The Loverboy CEO revealed that Batula’s hormones went haywire and she started breaking out after she stopped taking birth control pills. “She went on to … a drug where the by-product is clearer skin,” he said. “Also, one of the side effects was that she lost some weight as a result. I don’t think it’s a common side effect, but it was like a double weight loss that she had no control over.”

Cook beforehand said Us Weekly that when his wife went off birth control it affected her menstrual cycle. “She lost a lot of weight but her body hasn’t returned to normal,” he said in February 2023.

But some Summer House viewers have continued to post harsh comments about Batula’s weight loss. In a Reddit threadCommentators were concerned about Batula losing more weight from her already thin frame.

“There’s a DRAMATIC difference from this season’s summer home and last winter’s home… and I mean DRAMATIC.” wrote a fan. “I always thought she was absolutely gorgeous, perfect body, everything. And now she looks very sickly. it makes me really sad. I hope she is doing well.”

Other said they were worried about the effects on Batula’s hair and skin, while another speculated her weight loss could be stress-related.

In the podcast interview, Cooke responded to the comments addressed to his wife.

“She gets so much shit from trolls about her weight and people are like, ‘Well, you’re missing your period because you’ve lost so much weight,'” he said, adding that the situation is “tough” because His wife was simultaneously struggling with weight loss and adult acne, as well as fertility issues.

On “Summer House,” Batula admitted she didn’t want to know if there was anything physically wrong with her. Her co-star, Ciara Miller, agreed to see a doctor to treat her missed period.

On the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Cooke said he was “so grateful” to Miller, a nurse, for encouraging his wife to call a doctor. While he didn’t reveal the result, Cooke previously said his wife has been doing much better since filming Summer House last summer.

‘[She’s] in a much better place … especially with her personal health,” he told Us Weekly.
