Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis will not be playing against the Utah Jazz on March 31.

However, they could only get their 22nd together this season on April 1 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Davis had a plan to play against his former team but failed. The Chicago-born player has been sidelined since February 14 with a sprain in the middle of his right foot.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also reports that LeBron, who sprained his left ankle on March 27, is hoping to return against the Pelicans.

The Pelicans are 1.5 games ahead of the Lakers in the Western Conference standings. To make it to the play-in round, Los Angeles must finish above 11th.

The 9th, 10th and 11th places will go to the Pelicans, Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. Spurs actually finished in 10th on March 30, but since losing they have dropped to 11th.

Davis will likely struggle against the Pelicans as he hasn’t played for too long. However, without a doubt, the Lakers are a much better team on either side of the field with Brow in the lineup.

Davis is delivering strong numbers this season

Davis is averaging 23.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.3 tackles this season for the Lakers while shooting 53.7%, 18.2% from outside arc and 70.9% from the free throw line. He has 17 doubles and the Lakers are 17-20 with AD in the lineup.

Having attended the All-Star 8 times, Davis has a good playing history against the Pelicans. The Lakers big man has averaged 27.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in five games against the team he started his career with.

The Lakers are 11-10 when LeBron and Davis play this season. Injuries have prevented two Klutch Sports clients from developing chemistry in this campaign, one of the main reasons purple and yellow have become a walking disaster.

“We just haven’t had enough chemistry, enough time with our team to know exactly who we are and who we might be. [We haven’t] LeBron said in March. “We’ve really only played a team that has probably had the most consistent starting lineup of the last two or three years, and obviously [Chris Paul’s] was out, but they brought Cameron Payne in and everything went on. It will be a challenge for us. AD certainly helps, but it’s not the answer to all questions. ”

LeBron is having a phenomenal season. He averaged 30.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists while shooting 52.3% from the floor, 35.9% from outside the arc and 75.6% from the free throw. However, the Lakers were only 25-30 when the King competed.

While LeBron and Davis are two of the top players in the NBA, it may be too late for them to develop a relationship on the field and lead the Lakers on another magical journey as they did in 2020. .

Time is not with the Lakers

The Lakers will likely lose to the Jazz as Davis and LeBron are absent and Utah is 45-31. The Pelicans won LakeShow 2-0 this season, although Davis did not compete in either competition.

After the Pelicans, the Lakers have games against the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s a tough schedule for a team with a 21st-placed defense.

If Davis and LeBron face the Pelicans, it will be interesting to see how they move across the field and whether they can help the Lakers secure a starting spot. Lakers Rumors: NBA Insider Delivers Big News About LeBron James, Anthony Davis
