The Ontario Ball Hockey Association posted a tribute to Galbraith on Facebook, writing:

OBHA mourns the loss and extends its condolences to the family and friends of Lance Galbraith, who passed away Thursday at the age of 42.

You wouldn’t find a tougher player who would do anything for his teammates. When he was in the lineup he was there to support his teammates and everyone played a little bit bigger. One thing is for sure, he always enjoyed his time on the floor and always played with a grin or smile. One word to describe him would be passionate.

He began playing for many seasons with the Vaughan Flames, then transitioned into Masters ball hockey with the Weston Alumni, the Toronto Penguins and finally the York Express.

Lance started playing ball hockey at an older age after his ice hockey game ended. He played five seasons in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s and then on a few teams during his 12-year career in the East Coast, Central and American Hockey Leagues.
