Jimmy Fallon tells Lacey Chabert he’s seen all of her Hallmark movies
As Chabert appeared on The Tonight Show On November 21, 2022, to promote the upcoming release of her latest Hallmark Christmas film, Haul Out the Holly, Fallon said he was “so excited” to have her as a guest.
The pair discussed the possibility of a sequel to their cult 2004 film Mean Girls starring Lindsay Lohan, which Chabert would love to do, adding that people use her catchphrase from the film — “this is so great” — every time day with her.
When the conversation turned to the Hallmark Channel, Chabert told Fallon that she’s appeared in 33 films for the network. The crowd gasped and Fallon replied: “I saw them all! And you are fantastic!
“Did you really? You’re so nice,” Chabert replied, then said, “You know what… want to be in one?”
As Fallon’s eyes widened, she continued, “I’ve got some stuff next year. I would like to be one with you.”
“Yes! I’d love to be on Hallmark, are you kidding?” Fallon replied as the crowd cheered. “Yes, let’s make that happen!”
Chabert laughed, “Let’s do it! Why not!?”
It’s not such a far-fetched suggestion considering Fallon has acted in several feature films and has made numerous cameos in films since taking on “The Tonight Show” in 2014. Additionally, the comedian revealed that he really is a Hallmark fan.
“I watch them with my father. He likes her too,” Fallon told Chabert. “I also watch them with my wife. And I look at it myself. I just love…I’m obsessed. I’m obsessed!”

During her appearance on The Tonight Show, Fallon asked Chabert why she thinks Hallmark movies are so popular.
“I think now more than ever, we just need something good in the world,” she said. “And it’s like, people sit in their living room for two hours, they give you their time. And they feel uplifted. And you know, it’s cheerful. That’s why I love being a part of them.”
Chabert added that it’s an “honor” to star in so many Hallmark films because fans share with her “all the time” that the films bring people together, whether it’s married couples or a family tradition.
Returning to Chabert, Fallon revealed that she has directed 33 films for the network over the past 12 years. According to IMDb, Her first was Elevator Girl in 2010, but she only starred in another in 2012’s Matchmaker Santa.
“But how do you do 33? What’s the schedule?” Fallon asked.
“Oh my word. Okay, so the schedule is fast and wild,” Chabert told him. “We do them in 15 days. And it’s … yeah, they’re really long days and sometimes they won’t be until two months after filming.” aired.”
When Fallon asked her if she really films in the far flung locations some of the films are set in, Chabert replied, “Yes, we do a lot. I was in Belgium. I did one in South Africa – it was amazing.”
Fallon revealed he’s a big fan of Chabert’s Wedding Veil Trilogy movies and told his audience that they’re three of the most-watched Hallmark movies of all time. Chabert then shared major news about the trilogy, announcing that three more Wedding Veil movies are coming — the first is slated to premiere on January 7, 2023.
But first, her next Christmas movie, “Get out the holly” will debut on the Hallmark Channel on November 26 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern / 7:00 p.m. Central. Although Chabert has starred in 12 Christmas films for the network, this is the first time Chabert has directed a Christmas film that is a comedy. The film’s co-stars are Wes Brown, Stephen Tobolowsky, Melissa Peterman, and Ellen Travolta, whom Chabert called “these amazing people who made me laugh all day.”
