Where Turay is most excited

Turay is in a “prove it” deal with SF But the reason he’s so excited starts with the man who will soon be coaching him.

“I am very excited. I’m so excited to be working alongside a coach, Coach Kris, and I know he’s got his guy right,” Turay said in his video. “I know he is the kind of guy and the people who come to work under him. And people thrive when they are with him. So he has a good résumé in terms of what he does with his dash and I see it as a great opportunity to take advantage of opportunities as much as he can. And along with his coachability, just honing and just working. ”

Kocurek’s Coaching & How Turay could be a good fit for 49ers

Kocurek has built a reputation for capturing defenders and turning them into passing machines.

Some arrived with the previous seventh rounder in 2001 either slim body or in need of a passing spark – and Kocurek was the one to light them up.

The 43-year-old has twice made Pro Bowler Nick Bosa, guiding Arden Key to a career best season in 2021, coaching Kerry Hyder to his best bag output (8.5 in) 2020) and has helped Arik Armstead grow visible in the sack during his three seasons with Kocurek: 19.5 since 2019 after collecting only nine of his first four seasons in the Bay Area.

Looking at last season, the 49ers collected a total of 48 sacks… but 43.5 came from those who started with their hands on the grass before the ball broke.

Turay is about to hit its best sack yield at 5.5 in Indy. But was confident that with his height and marginal speed, he would blend in easily in the Bay.

Along with close shots, Turay created 13 QBs.

Even before his NFL career took off, Turay developed a strong reputation as a passing athlete in Piscataway, New Jersey for Rutgers University in the Big 10.

Out of 38 games in total, Turay produced one or 5.5 per season he played in the league according to Pro Football Reference. He also made seven tackles to lose and 29 QBs.

Fans of the 49ers probably shouldn’t be surprised if Turay was included in “NASCAR” looking the 49ers committed a crime. The key is an important part of that package.

But it was the defensive front that allowed Key to slip inside with Bosa – both creating a mismatch with the guards with their flash blasts.

It remains to be seen what kind of role Turay will get or how long it will play. But he delivered this final message to 49ers loyalists: He’s “locked in”.

“I’ll just close – give all I have to you. I’m about to be locked out, the sooner the better,” said Turay. Latest Rush Pass Option Shares Why He Would Be A Good Match For The 49ers
