‘Laughing’ manager shoots, killing seven at Virginia Walmart

A manager is said to laugh as he opens fire on one Virginia Walmart on Tuesday night, which killed at least six people before turning the gun on himself just days before Thanksgiving.

The accused shooter, Andre Bing, who was a store manager at the Walmart at Sam’s Circle in Chesapeake, according to the statement FOX 3 Now, was also reportedly killed in the fatal incident.

Police chief confirms shooter was current employee who killed himself with pistol, suspect identified

At a news conference Wednesday morning, Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky confirmed the attacker was a current employee who took his own life with a handgun.

“There is no clear motive at this time,” Solesky told reporters, adding that there was no indication the shooter was known to law enforcement before the shooting.

The chief said he could not identify the shooter until next of kin were notified, however Bing’s identity became public later Wednesday.

One of the workers – who was on the job for just five days – witnessed the mass shooting and told the outlet she heard the gunman laugh during the deadly attack.

The woman went on to say that 14 employees were waiting in a briefing room to be given their assignments for the day the shooting began.

Manager “had problems” with others at the Walmart in question, Arbeiter believes filming was planned

She claimed Bing has “issues” with other managers at the store and said she believes the shooting was premeditated.

“It didn’t even look real until you felt the gun go off,” the witness told FOX 3. “I’ll never set foot in that store again. I can’t, I can’t even leave my front door.”

Police have since searched the home of Bing, who was reportedly already dead when officers entered the Walmart around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night after reports of a shooting at the store, in which they found several dead and injured.

Four shooting victims were being treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on Wednesday morning, but their condition was unknown, according to Solesky.

The city confirmed in a tweet at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday that there had been seven deaths, including a janitor, an employee and the manager himself. A teenage worker was reportedly one of the victims who died.

Shooting started in the break room, janitor, co-worker, teenager among the victims

Another employee, identified as Kevin Harper, described the horrific attack on Facebook Live, which only ended after the man believed to be Bing turned the gun on himself.

“He blew his brains out and all. He killed that girl in there and everything. He came in and started spraying. I feel sorry for the victims,” said the clerk in a Walmart uniform, claiming the shooter was a manager.

Harper went on to say that he “had just left the break room … the manager came in there and started covering people in there, started shooting. Unfortunately we have lost some of our employees.”

A third worker, Briana Tyler, said that as usual, employees gathered in the break room before the start of their shift when their “manager just opened the door and … opened fire.”

“I looked up and my manager just opened the door and he just opened fire,” she told ABC’s Good Morning America, adding that “several people” fell to the ground.

“He didn’t say a word, he didn’t say anything at all,” Tyler said.

No victims have been publicly identified so far, the shooting comes days after the Colorado Gay Nightclub shooting

It took police almost an hour to declare the scene safe, reports FOX 3.

Meanwhile, none of the victims were publicly named as of Wednesday afternoon until the family was notified, officials said.

The shooting comes three days after Anderson Lee Aldrich reportedly opened fire at a Colorado Springs gay nightclub, killing five people and injuring others, before being attacked by heroic well-wishers. The shadow room previously reported.

It also comes three years after a shooting at a Walmart in El Paso where a gunman who police said was targeting Mexicans killed 22 people, as reported by The shadow room back then.
