Lauren Bushnell Lane Announces She and Husband Chris Are Having a Baby!

Bachelor Nation favorite Lauren Bushnell, now Lauren Lane, announced exclusively on June 6th Interview with People magazine that she is pregnant with her second child.

Bushnell became known to Bachelor fans when she won the heart of Ben Higgins in Season 20. Though she and Ben ended up going their separate ways, Bushnell found true love with country artist Chris Lane. Bushnell accepted Lane’s marriage proposal in June 2019, and the happy couple tied the knot in October of that year.

October will be something special again, because that’s when the second child is expected, according to People.

This happy news comes just before another important milestone, her son Dutton’s first birthday. Lane’s first child, Dutton Walker, was born on June 8, 2021.

Baby number 2 was a big surprise!

When People magazine asked Lauren how she found out she was pregnant, the 32-year-old beauty replied: “To be perfectly honest, I’ve never been so shocked in my life when we found out because this was one very unexpected surprise . When we found out Dutton was almost 8 months old and I felt nothing. I really had no symptoms. Actually, I was more inclined to take a pregnancy test, only to confirm that wasn’t the case! And to my surprise and Chris’s surprise, it was very positive.”

The pregnancy may not have been planned for that specific time in her life, but the couple had always planned to have two children, reports People. That was definitely a happy surprise. Bushnell gushed, “We’re both just incredibly excited.”

Lane was trying to put her son to bed when Bushnell read the results of the test and ran into Dutton’s bedroom to tell him. Both were stunned by the news. But after the shock wore off, they could say, “OK, we can do this,” Bushnell told People.

Now that Bushnell has finally gotten over the morning sickness phase of pregnancy, she and her husband can really enjoy thinking about the future. Bushnell explained in the interview: “Now I’m actually at the point where I can feel normal again. And then I’m sure I’ll get to the point where I’m officially uncomfortable again in about four months, so I’m going to try and enjoy these next few months! I’m in the sweet spot.”

The caption read: “Party of 4, October 2022🤍 Can’t wait to see you as a big brother Dutty!”

Fans seem just as excited about this new addition to the family as the Lanes. An Instagram follower wrote“The cutest, most amazing family😍, so happy for you!” Another posted, “Best best best news!! I love you sweet family! There is nothing more incredible and precious than observing the form of sibling love.”

Whether Dutton will link up with a brother or sister remains to be seen. Lane told People: “My family as a whole, all the boys in our family, we make a lot of boys. No one in the family – minus one person – ever had a girl. So if I had to guess, I’ll continue that tradition and it’ll probably be a boy, but for Lauren’s sake I guess…” Bushnell chimed in, “I think that’s why the Lane family could use some female energy in there!” to which her husband replied, “My parents are dying for a little girl, so we’ll see!”
