Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II signs autographs after the Week 4 win in Tampa Bay.

There was only smile for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football when Patrick Mahomes came out and fired like a man possessed.

Maybe it was the frustrating Week 3 loss in Indianapolis, or maybe it was Shaq Barrett’s comments and haunting memory of Super Bowl LV — he may even have heard Skip Bayless’ latest insult — but something angered the superstar QB and he did no prisoners in tampa bay because of it.

In the end there was the final score 41-31 and Mahomes threw for an easy 249 passing yards and three touchdowns. It was prime-time laughter, and a performance like this garnered a ton of attention on social media.

LeBron James praises Patrick Mahomes

The biggest name to tout the Chiefs may have been NBA legend LeBron James. “The King” couldn’t hold back on a touchdown pass to running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire after Mahomes’ Houdini-esque maneuver.

“Patty Mahomes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. So damn good!! 🪄” James voiced after the former MVP’s ridiculous bit of creativity.

He wasn’t alone. ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates had his own opinion on the same exact game.

“Mahomes is ABSURD!” Yates proclaimed, including a video of the wild touchdown in case you missed it.

This was just one game but there were many others taking to social media to address the Chiefs’ overall excellence under the bright lights.

Former first-round quarterback Robert Griffin III also watched. “Chiefs run faster through the Bucs than 💩 ran through DK Metcalf”, RGIII wrotewho trolls the Seahawks wide receiver about his midgame “problems.”

Bleacher report too got a laugh Featuring a hilarious rendition of a famous Happy Gilmore scene starring Mahomes as Ben Stiller and Tom Brady as Adam Sandler’s grandma.

KC sports radio voice Joshua Brisco was the man who wrote it a blowout, noting, “The Chiefs turned this game into a blowout big enough for the SNF crew to discuss the NFL’s concussion issue instead.” It’s true, Chris Collinsworth got into the Tua Tagovailoa situation in the second half – and nobody seemed to mind.

SportsCenter even had jokes ready to roll, with a Spongebob meme that perfectly described the Chiefs’ knockdown on Brady.

Geoff Schwartz, former Chiefs OT and older brother of Mitchell Schwartz, had a more serious tone than others. “When the Chiefs play like they’re going all out, they’re damn good. That’s why last weekend was so frustrating.” he explained.

Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright intervened also with straight facts for Chiefs Kingdom: “I know since it’s the Chiefs some people will try to find a way to downplay this but they shouldn’t do it. This Bucs defense has been (rightly) called the best in the league. They allowed 9 PPG. Hadn’t allowed more than 14 all year. KC hung them 41.”

Finally, the former NFL player became a podcaster Pat McAfee spoke for all outside observers with a very accurate statement. “It would be so much fun to be a Chiefs fan,” he commented. There’s always room for one more, Pat!
