ESPN’s lengthy report on NBA owner Joe Tsai claims LA Lakers star LeBron James was more worried about him space jam Profits than helping Hong Kong’s suppressed pro-democracy movement.
The article, which details Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai’s deep ties to the despotic Chinese communist regime, gives further details on how James told friends about Rockets manager Daryl Morey’s pro-Hong Kong tweet in 2019, ” raged” because James was concerned that his film, space jammay not be released in China after Morey was seen supporting the freedom movement in Chinese-owned Hong Kong.

Morey took to Twitter in October 2019 with his short, simple message in support of the libertarian people of Hong Kong, where the NBA’s Chinese business partners are arresting, detaining, torturing and killing people who want democracy to grow in Hong Kong’s British protectorate.
But as soon as Morey tweeted, “Fight for freedom, stand by Hong Kong,” the NBA erupted in anger that Moray would dare say anything that could upset the league’s billion-dollar deals with the Red Chinese. And LeBron James was one of those who got angry about Moray’s support for freedom.
Early on, James spoke out against Moray, calling him “uneducated” about the situation in Hong Kong. Though he never bothered to explain what Moray missed about China’s crackdown on Hong Kong residents yearning for freedom.
But according to ESPN, James was furious with Moray’s tweet, not least because he feared Moray’s uproar in China’s authoritarian hornet’s nest would result in his then-upcoming film, space jamto lose money if China blocks opening there.

ESPN added that James Morey lashed out at a Ritz-Carlton during a meeting with players in China over the pro-democracy tweet. And James also joined Tsai in attacking Moray from behind the scenes to force the NBA to fire Morey simply for supporting freedom in Hong Kong.
This is the same Lebron James stomping across America claiming to represent the downtrodden and disenfranchised. But apparently his support for freedom does not extend to China if it hurts his gains in the Chinese market.
