Lee Dixon has claimed that Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli gave the Manchester City full-back a ‘clean’ on Saturday, as he told Premier League Production.

The Highbury legend has praised Arsenal’s young cannons for their performance in the team’s demoralizing defeat to the Premier League champions.

Although the home team opened the scoring by Bukayo Saka, they were still on the field after the final whistle when Rodri scored the winner in injury time.

While Saka was on the scoreboard yesterday, Martinelli will kick himself that he did not score as he is a constant threat and has plenty of sinful opportunities to put his name on the lights.

Dixon hailed Arsenal’s young faces and what an ‘outstanding’ performance it was.

“In midfield, they dominated with their movement,” said Dixon.

“Two wide players, Saka and Martinelli, they completely put the full-back in. It was an outstanding performance.”

Mikel Arteta didn’t use Martinelli much when he was first appointed Arsenal manager and that should surprise you.

Although injuries have contributed to the Brazilian’s desire to improve in recent years, Arteta has kept him.

Well, that’s what supporters think because Arteta simply built him up to thrive as he is doing now.

Martinelli is like a weapon on the ball and his speed of movement will leave many opponents in the dark.
