Lee Dixon says Arsenal’s new boy has been ‘extremely productive’

Lee Dixon has shared that Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ‘effective’ for the club, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former Arsenal right-back reckons the club’s new boy has shown great ‘delivery’ and ‘strength’ since he was signed in the summer.

Tomiyasu arrives in North London on the last day of the summer transfer from Italy’s Bologna, with Hector Bellerin going to Spain.
The right-back area has been a big problem for Arsenal over the years, but they may have found an answer with the new Japanese star.
Dixon was one of Arsenal’s greatest right-backs during his days at the club and he shared his thoughts on how Tomiyasu has performed during his first six months at the club.
“Well, I sat back and I don’t praise him too much because I’m very wary of players coming into the Premier League and getting off to a good start,” Dixon said.
“After that it was a bit difficult and that could happen to him. But he has been very effective in this position.
“Very effective with his sport. The way he talks about the pitch. Understanding of the game. Delivery. His strength. Push the player off the ball.
“He was never in no man’s land. He was never in between the two positions. I think his positional play can work in the future because he has a growth mindset. ”
The most impressive part of Tomiyasu’s game was probably his defense and how strong he looked at Mikel Arteta’s rear.
If you include the goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, then four of Arsenal’s backlines have been brought in by their current manager.
And Tomiyasu, Ramsdale, Ben White and Gabriel have all been in top form for the club this season, so the future looks bright in that sense.
Then there is the famous Kieran Tierney, who was bought under the management of Unai Emery and he is likely to be the next Arsenal captain.
