LEGO Kennedy stars in this fan-made Resident Evil 4 tribute

Chef’s kiss.

The Resident Evil community has been in high gear with the upcoming release of Resident Evil 4 Remake. Many fans show their excitement by sharing fan art or memes online, but one person decided to recreate the opening scene from the original Resident Evil 4 as a short LEGO film.

Cara Aleatorio recently uploaded a four-minute animation to YouTube showing LEGO Leon exploring the hostile European village. The video begins with the cutscene of the protagonist talking to the two police officers before seamlessly transitioning into a gameplay perspective.

Leon checks his gun and knife and tries to shoot at nearby crows. Aleatorio paid a lot of attention to the game’s interface, making sure that the number of bullets falls with each shot of each protagonist. The agent moves on and soon enters a nearby house to greet its occupant.

The encounter plays out much like the in-game event, and the perceptive Mr. Kennedy is forced to subdue the enemy man (LEGO Palpatine-faced). Aleatorio has also done an excellent job of capturing what combat looks like in Resident Evil 4 and you can even witness LEGO Leon execute his fatal kick. Unfortunately, everything comes to an end and the video stops after he defeats the three townspeople in front of the house.

Aleatorio also shared his animation on Reddit and the community applauds and praises this piece of art. The post has become the hottest thread on the Resident Evil subreddit, garnering more than a thousand upvotes.

Aleatorio used Blender with the Mecabrics add-on to create the animation, Premiere Pro to edit, and Photoshop to sync the audio. According to the YouTube video description, it took them around 3,000 pictures and 1 to 2 months to complete this project.
