Liam Payne Postpones Tour Due to ‘Serious Kidney Infection’: ‘Now Really Isn’t the Time to Tour’ (Video)

Liam Payne, formerly of One Direction, has postponed his South American tour as he recovers from a kidney infection.
The singer announced the news on his Instagram page on Friday morning, telling fans that the decision wasn’t what he was hoping for but he is currently following the doctor’s strict instructions.
“That’s really the last bit of news I wanted to give you, but basically I’ve been a little unwell lately and ended up in the hospital with a bad kidney infection,” Payne said in a video message. “We’ve started rehearsals and I’ve just been told that now really isn’t the time to go on the road and try to recover from it.”
Payne added that he has “the best people around me” who would help him recover and assured fans they could get their tickets refunded. You can watch Payne’s full statement in the video below.
“I was incredibly excited to play for you guys. To everyone who bought tickets, I’m so sorry,” Payne noted in the caption of the post. “We’re working to reschedule the tour as soon as possible, but for now we’re refunding tickets – so please keep an eye out for updates at your point of sale.”
Signing off the post, Payne thanked his fans for their support and well wishes — of which there were plenty in the comments section — and promised he’d be “looking.”[s] I look forward to seeing you soon.”
