Lioness heroine Ella Toone reveals David Beckham slipped into her DMs after England’s Euro 2022 win

She was part of the team that gave England victory in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final at Wembley Stadium in London in late July.

And on Saturday morning, Lioness heroine Ella Toone, 22, revealed David Beckham had slipped into her DMs following her historic win.

The footballer, who scored one of England’s two goals in the final, announced the confession during The Big Breakfast on Channel 4 alongside team-mate Alessia Russo.

When asked about the post-game party, Ella confessed: “To be fair, yes, we had a big party. We celebrated. I think some of us are still partying!’

‘Has anyone exciting slipped into your DMs since the big win?’ Asked co-host AJ Odudu, to which Ella admitted: “There were a few… David Beckham slipped in!” before giggling with Alessia.

‘Woah, casual!’ exclaimed AJ over the truly impressive name dropped from England’s No. 20.

It comes after former England men’s captain David shared a sweet clip of his daughter Harper, 11, showing off her footballing skills before cheering on the England Lionesses ahead of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final.

And ahead of the game, the former Manchester United winger posted a clip to Instagram of his daughter scoring before sending the team a happy message.

David messaged the Lionesses and told them: “Hey girls so I just want to say good luck for the finals. Thank you for inspiring my daughter and thank you for inspiring the whole country. Bring the cup home!’

England’s lionesses were the pride of Britain after Chloe Kelly fired them into the history books after beating Germany 2-1 in the Euro 2022 final.

It had been a tense 90 minutes of flying tackles and yellow cards punctuating a high-energy game watched by Prince William in the crowd.

Scores of fans came to cheer on the Lionesses by hoisting English flags, painting their faces red and white and donning team shirts to cheer on the players preparing for Germany at 5pm.

Many of the visitors to Wembley and those in pubs and bars with live screens around the country were in family groups made up of young women and girls.

The women’s side qualified for their first EURO final since 2009 on Wednesday night when they defeated Sweden 4-0 at Bramall Lane.

England, who had never won the tournament before, played their first and last final at home in 1984.

Back then, some players’ husbands could not join the crowd of 2,500 at the Kenilworth Road site in Luton Town because they could not afford transport.

The game only had halves of 35 minutes instead of 45 and used a smaller ball than that played by men.
