When the Detroit Lions pick with the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, there are plenty of ways the team could go, which is why they’re considered one of the most compelling teams to pick.

Technically, the Lions can do anything, which makes them a wild card early on. With list-wide demand, it’s hard to lock down a slot where the team may need more than any other, which means it’s hard to project what the team will do.

This uncertainty leads to the view that there will be some chaos or drama at the top of the draft. That may be the case, but only in situations where the Lions go with a corner when they choose. A recent ESPN gossip piece carried out by Jordan Reid and Matt Miller right before the NFL draft took a look at some of the teams and situations that could have caused draft chaos at the top. When I arrived in Detroit, I

As Reid explains, if the Lions decide to upgrade their defensive backstage instead of their defensive front, that move could cause some deep ripple effects near the top of the draft that could lead to chaos. downline disorder.

“The Lions lack top-class talent, but they can choose to best bolster their defense with Gardner. That will ensure that two of the top drivers – Hutchinson, Walker and Thibodeaux – are in 3rd place for Houston,” Reid wrote in the post.

Most thought the Lions would add to their defence, but some taunts, including ESPN’s Mel Kiper, sent the team back to defence. If that happens, it opens up a lot of other scenarios that could have caused the aforementioned chaos.

Lions Hosted Productive Gardner on Pre-Draft Visit

Gardner will likely be playing for Detroit as the team took a closer look at him during the pre-draft process. Gardner visited the Lions a couple of weeks ago, and played his game in college, hardly surprising in fact how elite he looked.

While playing for Cincinnati, Gardner was a sound player who was only looking to raise the draft in relation to where everyone thought he would be picked. The reason is his excellent production. Gardner made 99 tackles and 9 interceptions with the Bearcats in college and showed a knack for not just intercepting but being in the right place at the right time. He also had 16 assists and scored 2 touches in his career. Here are some highlights:

Seeing the Lions make the move would be fascinating, as it would go against some conventional wisdom for the team. Whether it happens or not is anyone’s guess, but there may be a precedent for this move given the fact that the Lions have had a connection with Gardner.

Why Lions can draft defense back in 2022

Do the Lions need to fall back early in this draft with high picks? That point is debatable, but the team could certainly use some depth in this position to help supplement their roster. In the dark, the team witnessed the production from a pair of untrained freelance agents in AJ Parker and Jerry Jacobs. The playstyle of both seems to be good enough to strengthen the position in the future. In addition to those players, the Lions have watched Amani Oruwariye become a star this season and the team still has Jeff Okudah on the roster, although he will be injured in 2022. Additionally, the team will have a player at Ifeatu Melifonwu looking to take the next step from his five rookies. Add it all up and there’s definitely a reason to feel positive about the team’s future moving forward. The Lions can certainly draft or sign lower-rated players to fill both positions. With Mike Hughes, whom they signed last month, they may have found another player to help out for the sake of depth. Same for DeShon Elliott to a safe extent.

If the Lions do with a defensive defender, that will certainly bring some chaos to the top of the draft as many people don’t expect this move at this point, even if it could be an option. reality.
