Dan Campbell trains the Lions against Arizona in 2021.

No one expected Detroit Lion to be able to defeat The Arizona Cardinals much less than them, but that’s just what happened on the field in Week 15.

The Lions wire-to-wire commercial that delivered a dominant 30-12 win over the Cardinals was heavily supported, and while many were shocked by that result, it’s easy to see why maybe more people should watch. it over pipe at a long distance.

As famously said, the Lions didn’t give up on Dan Campbell this year. While that may seem like lip service without much of a definite result, most people can’t argue now after the Lions led 2-1 three weeks ago. If the win over Minnesota was a fluke, the win should have been validated for the team under their new coach’s plans.

Campbell has been frustrated in a lot of his decisions, but the coach has a team that is pulling in the same direction for him. At this point in the season, that’s very important. The team didn’t lack the right mindset once, but simply lacked the talent on the pitch to be a consistent winner. That will come when Brad Holmes can continue to add to the lineup well enough. Campbell thinks they’re off to a good start as he told the media after the game on December 19.

“We have the right guys, we really do what you want in terms of personality wise and what they’re made of. We have people who just want results and how can I help. That always gives you a chance,” explained Campbell after the game.

It is his traits that you simply cannot teach as an employee and must be deepened. So far, that seems to be the case with the Lions.

Detroit being able to stand up and take an overwhelming win against one of the NFC’s top teams shows that the team is fighting hard for Campbell and is ready to turn the tide. Detroit may be out of business by now, but that’s not happening the way the staff believes. That’s great news for the future.

What else has been learned during the great crisis? Here is a look:

Amon-Ra St. Brown seems to be aiming for the star

Detroit’s top rookie reception made history on the day with his 59th reception surpassing Jahvid Best as the most rookie in team history, but St. Brown is much more than that. He sneaked behind the defense and made a great catch in the game.

How St. Brown came out and adjusted to show that the rookie had a deep understanding of the game. To go 90 yards and touch the ball in this game against a solid defense is huge. St. Brown is about to show up, and it looks like he’ll soon become an expert at catching passes in the league if he hasn’t already.

Aaron Glenn deserves credit for Detroit’s defensive revival

The Lions’ defense was once again impressive. They held off Arizona to score and managed to keep things under control most of the afternoon holding the Cardinals to 398 yards total in the game. Once again, the Lions were baffled by a leading Kyler Murray quarterback and never allowed his offense to continue. Credit goes to Aaron Glenn, as the team’s defensive coordinator. Coach Campbell himself seems to know this, as he has encouraged Glenn to work.

“He understands what we have to do every week, and so do his employees. I think we have a very good defensive staff. Those players know exactly what is expected of them, what will give them the best chance to win or to prevent offense. They did it,” Campbell said after the game to reporters.

Once Glenn has more players, the Lions can become elite under his leadership. He’s been playing solidly this year, and the Lions’ defense continues to improve, which is a credit to the coach.

Lion? Jared Goff, Midfielder

Detroit had plenty of standout performances of the day, but arguably the biggest was by Goff. Although he doesn’t put a lot of emphasis on pitching, he had a very productive day with 3 touchdowns and lots of big passes. Perhaps the best thing is that he throws Josh Reynolds right before halftime to help flip the momentum in a major way:

Many might not think that Goff is on track to become the team’s quarterback in 2022, but with performances like this, he’s hard to ignore. The Lions seem to be improving a lot under his watch in midfield, and this is another positive performance to note.

Lions’ game stats: 3

That’s the total number of sieges and interceptions the Lions have for the day. Charles Harris was again a driving force with 1.5 dismissals, and Amani Oruwariye had his sixth interception of the season. Those stages were crucial to the eventual Detroit victory because they helped turn the tide of the game. Sudden changes in a game are huge for a team, and Detroit has needed them all year. They eventually started cashing out on some of their chances and it worked in their favor.

Lions’ Quote to Note:

“Charles has been a constant player for us all season. He’s a nuisance to the midfielders, but he also plays running. He really showed up.” – Dan Campbell. Speaking about defensive midfielder Charles Harris, Campbell admitted he liked what he saw from the player throughout the season and that Harris was the main reason the Lions were able to win another game. .

Along with the others, Harris was a guy who set a leading example for the Lions this season as they overcame a big finish.
