Liverpool could sign a star in exchange, Pirlo said the ‘rarely seen’ ace is a ‘complete player’

Liverpool could reportedly sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in a direct swap deal this summer – a player whom Andrea Pirlo described as a ‘complete player’ in 2020 and claimed his qualities are ‘seldom seen’.

Reports last week said Rabiot, 27, is keen to join a Premier League club that has qualified for the Champions League. That includes Liverpool, of course, as well as Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City.

The France international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Juventus and the £15m man is unlikely to be offered a new deal. Now, Italian point of sale CMW have provided an update regarding Rabiot and Liverpool.

The report says Liverpool are ready to include Naby Keita in a swap deal for the £116,000-a-week star (CMW). Liverpool would get a player Pirlo said was “complete”, a midfielder who is “seldom seen” in terms of his ability.

“As a complete player, I’ve rarely seen someone so physically and technically strong,” Pirlo told Sky Sports – by destination. “He doesn’t even know the potential for improvement. He’s a champion, he’s improving game by game.”

The only criticism of Liverpool’s signing of Rabiot is whether they actually need a midfielder. Fabinho is one of the world’s best in the role, and they have coverage in the form of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Tyler Morton.

However, Henderson is now 32 and will know he won’t start every game. When he does it’s usually in front of Fabinho. Milner is a squad player and was only held to provide cover. Morton remains a rookie.

There is cover, but a little off Fabinho. Rabiot would help close the gap, especially as Liverpool are set to battle for another quadruple once more. Whether he likes to warm the bench remains to be seen.
