Lizzo recently reached a major milestone with the purchase of her own home, and she looks back on her journey to reach that goal.
The “Truth Hurts” singer opened up about the matter during their meeting CBS Sunday morning— which will air in full Sunday, December 25 at 9 p.m. However, a teaser for the interview was uploaded on Thursday to give fans a taste of what to expect.

Lizzo Acknowledges Her Hard-Deserved Achievement: ‘Can’t Wait To Go Back To My Own Home’
What journalist Tracy Smith asked Lizzo about her new home, pointing out that her living situation was very different “just 10 years ago.”
“10 years ago you slept in your car!”
Lizzo confirmed this, noting that now that she has a place that’s all hers, she “can’t wait” to return home and enjoy the fruits of her labor.
“Yeah. Woo, staying in people’s rooms and sleeping on their couches. And now, on this past tour, I’ve been blessed to stay in really nice places. But I was like, ‘I miss my house. I can can’t wait to get back to my own home and bed. This is the first time I’ve said that. Well, I don’t know. It’s a milestone for me.”
BET reports that Lizzo has also opened up about how she’s “overdoing it” with Christmas decorations this year by comparing herself to Santa Claus.
“It’s like you haven’t had anything for a long time and now [that] I got it, I’m going overboard. I am literally Santa Claus.”
The new homeowner prepares to wrap up a busy year
In addition to reaching the homeowner milestone, Lizzo has also accrued a number of other notable blessings over the past year.
When The shadow room As previously reported, Lizzo recently had the honor of receiving the People’s Champion Award. While accepting the award, she shared the spotlight with 17 activists.
Shortly before this big honor, TikTok specifically named Lizzo as the platform’s top hitmaker of 2022.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also acknowledge that Lizzo also showed up with her friend Myke Wright earlier this year. Regarding their relationship, Lizzo later admitted that they were very “very much in love” and “locked up.” She also warmly announced, “There is no one else I will be with for the rest of my life.”
