Louis Theroux has revealed his wife Nancy Strang has warned him he is drinking “quite a lot” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The documentary maker, 52, admitted he’s “drinking more than” he “should” as he disclosed his drinking while appearing on Thursday’s Loose Women.
He explained that his principal, with whom he tied the knot in 2012, told him he had been drinking “quite a lot” during the Covid lockdown and said he had “curbed it” since then.

“Like many people, we couldn’t go to bachelorette parties, weddings or parties. All of that outlet had to happen in your house,” he said.
“I opened the bourbon on a Friday night and then on a Monday and Tuesday. My wife said you seem to be drinking quite a bit and I would say I’m just relaxing.
“I reined it in. I drink more than I should, but you can’t be too hard on yourself with that stuff. You have to keep an eye on it.’
Louis said the pandemic has also allowed him to spend more time with his wife Nancy and their children – Frederick, Walter and Albert – and said they met each other “in a whole new way”.

The podcaster said they started a production company, Mindhouse, right before the pandemic, which he says is both “awful” and “wonderful.”
He continued, “I have discovered how much I love my family and especially my wife.
“Everyone had a different pandemic and I can only speak for myself, but we saw each other more than ever and that included getting to know my wife in a whole new way.
“We had started a TV production company together just before lockdown, not an ideal time. It was awful on one level and amazing and wonderful on another.”
Reflecting on how his job has affected his marriage, Louis admitted his “biggest conflict” is balancing his work commitments with his personal life.

Amusing: Louis also spoke about the viral TikTok remix video of Louis rapping “My Money Don’t Jiggle, Jiggle, It Folds” and shared his surprise that the clip was becoming so popular
He explained: “The biggest conflict in my life is work and life and how that plays out on the domestic front and how it plays out in your relationship with your significant other.
“I’ve been traveling doing TV for 20 years and in lockdown I haven’t been able to travel anymore. My wife always said why can’t you go out less, there must be interesting people to meet in the UK.
“So I started covering the home front, the home environment, which ended up being about arguments between my wife and I and the kids.”
Elsewhere on the chat show, Louis discussed the viral TikTok remix video of Louis rapping “My Money Don’t Jiggle, Jiggle, It Folds,” and shared his surprise that the clip was becoming so popular.

He said: “My agent called and said we were in touch with TikTok, you’re going viral in an unprecedented way.
“When I walked past schools and dropped my kids off, I heard this murmur, ‘My money doesn’t wiggle. Rita Ora did it, Shakira did it, Snoop Dog.
“The 7-year-old is there, the middle one, the 14-year-old, not so much. The idea of me being all over his feed doing my cringey dance is obviously not ideal.
