Coroner identifies grandfather, grandson killed in Louisville shooting
The man and teenager killed Monday morning at the Douglas Park Apartments in the Southside neighborhood have been identified by the coroner. Miguel Ricardo, 55, and Giovanni Rodriguez, 17, were both pronounced dead from gunshot wounds around 4 a.m. Oct. 2. Yunior Rodriguez, 40, the suspect, is the son of Ricardo and the father of Giovanni Rodriguez. He was arrested and charged with murder. Police say he admitted killing both men at the Douglas Park Apartments in the Southside neighborhood early Monday morning. According to a police report, he stood near the door where the victims were found and later waived his Miranda rights before telling them he shot them. Previous story: When Rodriguez was arraigned Tuesday morning, he said the Judge said he couldn’t pay a lawyer and threatened to kill himself. Rodriguez is due back in court next week. The judge left bail at $500,000.
