Louisville volleyball falls to Stanford in 5 sets
The Cardinals’ undefeated streak came to an end. Second-place Louisville lost at the KFC Yum! in five sets to fifth-seeded Stanford. A future ACC opponent, Center bounced back to hand Louisville its first loss of the season. After setting a record attendance against Kentucky on Wednesday (12,760 fans), another 9,761 spectators crowded into the arena on Sunday for the top-five matchup, which was taking place for the second time – the largest crowd in UofL history. Outside hitter Anna DeBeer led Louisville with 17 kills and two blocks, while Standford’s Caitie Baird recorded a game-high 23 kills. The Cardinals begin ACC play on Friday, September 22nd against Syracuse.
