Who is the villain in Thor: Love and Thunder?

Thor: Love and Thunder will introduce new villain Gorr, the God Butcher, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Christian Bale.

Born on a planet with no name, Gorr endured a series of tragedies throughout his life, beginning with the death of his parents. Gorr later lost his wife and children to an earthquake and subsequent starvation during the aftermath.

Gorr sought help from the gods his people prayed to all their lives and was frustrated when no one came to his aid and concluded that they did not exist and was therefore banished after losing his faith.

Traveling alone across the desert, Gorr encountered two gods fighting each other – the dark eldest god Knull and a purple god – and was outraged to discover gods existed but did nothing to help his family.

When a god asked for help, Gorr gave in to his anger and combined with the dark god’s sword, which emanated a mass of darkness, becoming All-Black the Necrosword.

Gorr then brandished his weapon and slew the begging god and vowed to take revenge on all the gods for ignoring his prayers and took the name of Gorr, the godslayer.

Marvel Legends reveals Gorr the God Slayer

Aside from a couple of leaked set photos that surfaced last year showing Christian Bale’s shaved head, no one had seen what the live-action Gorr looked like until the villain’s pale complexion was revealed in the new Marvel Legends characters.

Despite sporting a face similar to an amphibian (or Voldemort’s) in the comics, the new character featured Gorr’s accurate white skin, clad in monochromatic robes alongside All-Black.

Bales Gorr also looks like he’ll keep a fairly human-sculpted face, and fans will have to wait and see what the actor’s voice will be for the God Butcher.

Who is Falligar the Behemoth?

During the teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thundera stunning shot of Thor and Korg standing in a frozen landscape overlooking the corpse of a fallen beast.

The beast in question is known from the Marvel Comics as Falligar the Behemoth, and the scene featured in the trailer is pulled straight from the comic’s pages.

Known as the tutelary god of the Galactic Frontier and champion of the Tournament of Immortals, Falligar is also an ally of Thor. However, in Marvel lore, Thor discovered that Falligar was killed by Gorr the God Butcher, which is likely the same path the film will take.
