Luann de Lesseps says RHONY Legacy is ‘in the works’

The Real Housewives of New York City: Legacy has received an update.
According to Luann de Lesseps, the legacy series The Real Housewives of New York City is still running. On March 9, 2023, the cabaret artist joined former co-stars Dorinda Medley and Ramona Singer for the “An Evening in New York” event at the Colonial Theater outside of Philadelphia, PA.
During a Q&A with fans, de Lesseps provided an update on the long-awaited Legacy spinoff that was announced by Bravo’s Andy Cohen nearly a year ago. Rumor has it that the wish list for the cast of the potential series includes de Lesseps, Medley, Sonja Morgan, Jill Zarin and more. according to page six, but talks seem to have stalled in the months since the project was first announced. But de Lesseps gave fans a “positive” update during the fan event.
“We had a little hiccup,” de Lesseps told the potential series crowd. “But it’s in the works, let’s put it that way. That is very positive.”
Fans reacted to the update on social media. “We like to hear that” wrote one commenter on Instagram.
But others were frustrated by the long wait for the spinoff. “We’ve been hearing that since they announced Legacy.” wrote another commenter.
Ramona Singer has criticized the idea of a legacy series

Singer was particularly quiet when de Lesseps teased that the fork is moving forward, likely because it differs from what she said about it a few days earlier. early March 2023, Singer told Hollywood Life from the Legacy Series: “As far as I know, that’s not currently happening.”
In October 2022, Singer questioned the reboot while speaking on Carlos King’s Reality With the King podcast. “I feel like the ‘legacy’ [show]how could it really be good?” She asked King, per person Magazine. “The people who will bring them back are the people who didn’t want to renew them anyway. What now? Do you call it ‘The Loser Show’, ‘Loser Legacy’?”
While Singer is apparently absent, Medley has expressed a keen interest in the show. tell diversity that she would “naturally” join the cast of the New York-based spinoff.
“Listen, if you hear anything, call me! I’ll be at Blue Stone Manor waiting,” she said in October 2022. “Listen, I never wanted to leave [‘RHONY’]!” Added medley. “People think I left. You put me on pause.”

While there were rumors that talks for RHONY had ended, Cohen was hired in January 2023 fans tweeted“Don’t believe everything you read #RHONYLegacy.”
However, recently there have been new rumors about the fate of the spin-off. According to page sixformer RHONY star Jill Zarin, who was an original cast member, was supposed to be part of the revamped series, but a source said Cohen’s earlier joke was about buying houses in every city to try to get her hands on the Housewives franchise again , didn’t go down well with her, and she ended up playing “hardball” during the negotiations.
Zarin eventually pulled out of the talks, causing executives to lose interest in the entire Legacy series due to a lack of OGs willing to participate, the insider added.
