Julian Ward has spearheaded negotiations for Diaz, with Sporting Director Michael Edwards – who is leaving Anfield this summer – playing a supporting role.
Diaz got a taste of Anfield this season when he played in Porto’s 0-2 Champions League defeat to Liverpool on November 24.
You might be wondering if that means the 25-year-old has now won the trophy for the knockout stages – let’s see.
