Since his £37 million Moving from Porto in January, Luis Diaz has earned comparisons to Luis Suarez at Liverpool.

The Colombia international’s pace of work, tenacity and aggression have led many to compare him to the Uruguay international.

Diaz added credibility to those comparisons in Colombia’s 3-0 win over Bolivia on Thursday.

What’s the matter?

Well, the 25-year-old scored a goal that Suarez would have been proud of.

Diaz took down a long ball like his boots were cushions before slicing inside and unleashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom right corner.

Interestingly, it was eerily reminiscent of the goals Suarez scored for Liverpool, one in particular against Stoke.

In truth, we feel Diaz’s effort was better as his first touch dead-killed the ball while Suarez’s control allowed the ball to pop up a bit.

However, Suarez managed to slip a nutmeg in before his shot, so let’s give him that.

Still, the similarities between Diaz and Suarez seem to grow with every passing game.

Luis Diaz can surpass Luis Suarez’s legacy at Liverpool

In our opinion, Diaz Suarez can actually trump at Anfield.

It will take a lot for the Colombian to top the Atlético Madrid forward’s tally 82 goals for Liverpool.

But even if he doesn’t trump him, we believe Diaz will surpass Suarez’s legacy as his goals give him a better chance of winning the silver.

Despite Suarez’s brilliance, the side weren’t designed to dominate England and lift trophies like the environment Jurgen Klopp created.

Therefore, Diaz has a chance to ensure his goals mean more, even if he ends up scoring half of Suarez’s tally.

Whatever happens, the Kop have one more attack gem to look forward to.
