Gameplay fixes focus on interceptions in the latest Madden NFL 24 title update
In the latest title update, released on November 2, 2023, EA’s focus was on the physics surrounding certain defensive plays and passing catches. First discuss the interceptions.
Fixed catch drop issue
There was an issue that persisted after the snap. Once the quarterback was tackled during or immediately after a throw, the defense dropped a sure catch on an interception play. This fix has been reverted to the previous physics after it was originally changed in September’s Title Update 3.
For a limited time, implemented physics now allows some pass rushers to intercept a pass immediately after hitting the QB. The catch chance is now reset to the previous values as improvements to the catch chance values are being worked on during this time.
Additionally, the development team will mitigate the changes Rating threshold for catching interceptions in competitive play style and difficulty level. This is intended to effectively reduce the number of aborted interceptions. This also applies to open catches, as collisions between the player and the ball can still effectively knock the ball out of possession.
More gameplay changes made to Madden 24 with Title Update 4

Ball carrying dives updated
The latest patch has now increased the likelihood of ball carriers fumbling the ball while diving into traffic. So far there has been no fumbling when performing game dives. Expect lots of loose balls to be picked up in packages.
Size of fit meter increased
One solution I’m particularly happy with is increasing the size of the Pass Accuracy Meter. This gives you a better view of the meter and allows for better placed passes into crowded areas with zone or double coverage.
Fixed defensive setups and assignments
There were some ongoing issues with the 3-4 Odd SS Trap 2 setup that have been resolved. In these lineups, players’ defenders should no longer line up on the wrong side of the field during empty sets.
