MAGA audience praises Trump’s approval of JD Vance: “The right choice!”

The most ardent supporters of former President Donald Trump’s “America First” policies have hailed his endorsement of best-selling author JD Vance, a national populist, in the Ohio Republican Senate primary.

Vance, his best-selling memoir Backwoods Elegy was filmed in 2020 and garnered Trump’s “complete and unreserved support” in the crowded race, which also includes former Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel, investment banker Mike Gibbons and former Ohio Republican Party Chairwoman Jane Timken.

“[Vance is] strong on the frontier, hard on crime, knows how to use taxes and tariffs to hold China accountable, will fight to crush Big Tech and was a warrior in the rigged and stolen presidential election,” Trump wrote in his endorsement .

Vance thanked Trump for the support and wrote:

I am incredibly honored to have the support of President Trump. He was an incredible champion for hard-working Americans in the White Househe will be again, and I will fight for the America First Agenda in the Senate. [Emphasis added]

In response, Trump’s most influential supporters praised the endorsement. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) wrote that “Trump made the right choice!” and Republicans “need [Vance] in Washington to stand up to those who have put America last.”

Likewise, Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) — who also chairs the National Republican Study Committee (NRSC) — urged Ohio’s Republican primary voters to align themselves with Trump and support Vance in the race.

“Support [Vance] for the US Senate! #MAGA,” Banks wrote. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), a longtime supporter of Vance’s Senate campaign, wrote “To Victory!” following messages of confirmation.

Republican Bernie Moreno, who dropped out of the race in February, urged GOP primary voters to rally around Vance to rally support against Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), the likely Democratic nominee for Senate .

“Ohio Republicans: Let’s unite and make sure we keep the seat in Republican hands,” Moreno wrote. “As we saw [Tim Ryan] is a shallow, useless, and tired career DC bureaucrat who has done nothing for the people he was paid to do. Time for him to go home. [Vance] will see to that.”

Former Trump administration official Ric Grenell, a former Moreno supporter, suggested that he, too, fully supports Vance after Trump endorsed him.

Other former Trump administration officials such as Cliff Sims, Darren Beattie and Stephen Miller suggested backing the endorsement.

“Trump made the right choice in supporting JD Vance,” Beattie wrote.

Political adviser Arthur Schwartz wrote that Vance is the only candidate in the Ohio GOP Senate primary “who almost certainly wins the general…” Conservative Kurt Schlichter similarly showered Trump with praise for the endorsement.

Christopher Rufo of the Manhattan Institute called Trump’s endorsement of Vance ‘a big moment’ for the Republican Party.

Vance’s candidacy has represented the GOP’s populist-nationalist wing with policy prescriptions to reduce the social and market power of giant tech companies, punish multinationals that outsource American jobs, and criticize the political establishment’s appetite for foreign interventionism.

For example, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in January, Vance said that big tech companies are simply too big and too powerful, and that conservatives must get behind efforts to lessen their grip on Americans.

“A big part of what drives the Big Tech censorship machinery is that these companies are just too big and too powerful. When you have that much concentrated power, it leads to censorship. It leads to control. I think we should disband these companies,” Vance said. “Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp is actually the same company. That should be at least three separate companies.”

“Amazon controls the entire modern hardware infrastructure of the internet. We shouldn’t let that happen,” Vance continued. “We should break them up by force and create more competition the way Teddy Roosevelt created competition in the steel industry.”

Vance’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) attacked elected politicians who help fund U.S. involvement in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, even as the U.S.-Mexico border sees record-breaking illegal immigration and drug trafficking in the last year Has .

“One of the biggest reasons Democrats have failed the working class and citizens of this country is that they don’t even care about their citizens compared to the illegal immigrants pouring in across the US southern border,” Vance said .

Vance even left to BlackRockmultinational investment firm Wall Street, to purchase single-family homes across the US at above-market prices, resulting in first-time owners and young Americans being excluded from homeownership.

“Blackrock is pursuing an investment strategy that will make home ownership more difficult for young Americans,” Vance wrote. “The Left will ignore this because Blackrock has committed to ‘race testing’ and other diversity BS.”

The Ohio Republican Senate primary is scheduled for May 3rd.
