Man accused of kidnapping a 10-year-old from Texas is suspected of killing the boy’s mother

Authorities in Texas are searching for a 10-year-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped by a man responsible for the death of the child’s mother.
Ian Aguilar is in “great or imminent danger,” officials say.
Police say he was kidnapped by Juan Aguilar-Cano, 38, who was also identified as a suspect in the killing of the boy’s mother, according to Wilmer police. Brian Clark said Thursday.
Wilmer police led the investigation into the boy’s disappearance.
A nationwide one Amber Alert was issued for Ian, who was last seen around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Wilmer, a town of about 5,000 people 15 miles south of Dallas.
The boy is said to be 1.20 meters tall and have brown eyes and black hair. Aguilar-Cano is reported to be 5 to 7, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
“We’re pursuing every lead we can,” Clark said Thursday. The investigator said he could not provide any further details about the murder of the boy’s mother, citing ongoing investigations.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reported that Aguilar-Cano was the boy’s father and identified the child’s mother as Zuleika Lopez. According to the news outlet, her body was found by her daughter in her home on Tuesday.
