Man arrested in Kentucky for allegedly abusing a 1-year-old

A Denver man was arrested in Kentucky on Thursday for allegedly abusing a baby. Michael Lofton was arrested early Thursday near the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport. Shively police say Lofton told his girlfriend that her 1-year-old daughter was injured after a fall. The baby was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, and that’s when police got involved, according to court documents. At the hospital, a report was presented to authorities saying the girl’s injuries were consistent with child abuse. Court documents show the child had numerous bruises on her face, neck, chest and stomach. Lofton is charged with criminal child abuse.
