However, the same report claimed Tottenham also have Mancini on their radar.

Italy blow

Now Mancini had just guided Italy to Euro 2020 success and we know all about his achievements with Manchester City.

However, the Italian has reached a new low in his coaching career.

Italy lost on Thursday evening 1-0 to North Macedonia in the semi-final playoff of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The result means the reigning European champions will not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, leading former Tottenham striker and BBC MOTD presenter Gary Lineker to describe it as “an almighty and devastating fall”.

It will be interesting to see what the Italian FA do about Mancini now.

Mancini won the European Championship with Italy last summer, which should certainly earn him a stay of execution.
