The collaboration between LEGO and Nintendo for the LEGO Super Mario sets has been intriguing to say the least. The combination of classic brick construction and real play elements has resulted in some very unique sets.

So it came as a pleasant surprise that a brand new Dry Bowser Castle expansion set for Mario Day was announced via a special presentation demonstrated by Didier Agani, the LEGO Super Mario team’s Senior Play Designer. This adorably ominous new set can be yours when it releases on August 1st, 2023.

A LEGO brick Donkey Kong is not the toy the world deserves, but it is the toy the world needs.

In LEGO’s special Mario Day presentation, they announced that a new Donkey Kong-themed set will be released this summer, showing how Mario can be placed as everyone’s favorite Kong, which is sure to bring exciting new features and playstyles becomes. Ah, the classic tale of mortal enemies turned into miniature plastic friends.

Super Mario Movie shoe replicas created and displayed in NYC

In a move exactly zero expected, Nintendo commissioned Red Wing Shoes to create perfect replicas of the boots worn by the title character from Universal Pictures’ upcoming Super Marios Bros. movie. Red Wing Shoes have also taken the liberty of even sharing the process they used to create these stunning replicas, complete with mushroom-soaked heel pads as an additional tribute to the series.

The Nintendo Switch is no stranger to bundles, so it makes sense that Nintendo would release a new one to celebrate Mario Day. This time, for $299, you can get a Nintendo Switch with red Joy-Con controllers, a Joy-Con grip, and a set of Universal Pictures’ Super Mario Bros.

Movie sticker sheets and the choice to download a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, or Super Mario Odyssey. “Let them pick their own damn game,” Nintendo’s president likely said.

To celebrate Mario Day, Nintendo has decided to offer a collection of Super Mario and Donkey Kong games at up to 50% off, essentially giving these titles a $20 discount. Deals on Super Mario games don’t come around often, but when they do, they’re not that great.

Needless to say, the $20 discount might not be enough for some, but this is an opportunity to pick up some fantastic titles at a lower price than usual.

The final trailer of The Super Mario Bros. movie has been released

Nintendo delivered a new Nintendo Direct presentation exclusively covering The Super Mario Bros. movie. The Direct itself was hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto, with the cast including Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Anya Taylor-Joy, Seth Rogen and Keegan-Michael Key. The icing on the cake of this presentation, however, was the debut of the final trailer for the highly anticipated film, giving viewers further insight into the film.

If you’re dying to hear Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong and craving more Charlie Day as Luigi, don’t hesitate to check out this trailer. For a challenge, watch the trailer closely and see if you can spot Bob-Omb Battlefield, the first stage of the legendary Super Mario 64.
