Speaking of Official Leeds United PodcastMark Jackson has shared the details of the first conversation he had with Jesse Marsch.
The American replaced Marcelo Bielsa last month and one of the first decisions he made at Elland Road was to promote Jackson to the first-team role.
Jackson says Marsch immediately told him he had been promoted and told him to come to the training ground bright and early to prepare for the new regime.
what was said
Jackson shared what it’s like working with the new manager.
“It was great. I spoke to him for the first game when I was at the Spurs game and he said: ‘Listen I’ve got bad news for you, you have to be there first thing in the morning because you’re leaving us to have to support.’ We would have been there anyway because under Marcelo we’re first and foremost anyway, he’s a really positive coach and manager and he’s really very open,” Jackson said.
The fact that Marsch promoted Jackson straight away just goes to show how willing he was to take the job at Leeds.
Marsch knew he needed someone at his side who knew the club and could help with the transition and Jackson is the perfect man for the job.
It looks like a tidbit, Leeds have won their last two games and appear to be pulling out of the relegation battle.
Marsch quickly got to work and it has helped him change the fortunes of Leeds.
