Luis Diaz was one of Liverpool’s best players on Saturday.

The Reds advanced to the FA Cup final with a 3-2 win over Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

Diaz, who signed for £49million in January, wasn’t one of the goalscorers but it was still a commanding performance from Liverpool’s newest star.

Despite only joining a few months ago, the 25-year-old looks and plays like he’s been part of Jurgen Klopp’s team for years.

And a first-half moment when he plucked a ball from the sky before releasing Sadio Mane down the left flank epitomized his effortless transition into life at Liverpool.

Here’s what Martin Keown said BBC Sport about the above moment.

He said: “Well, you get the feeling he could play in a phone booth, Diaz. There is absolutely no space, get it out of the sky and just dance past people. Brilliant.”

This is the player Tottenham Hotspur tried to sign before Liverpool hijacked the transfer.

To be fair to Spurs, they were definitely up to something, because Keown is right – that boy could be playing football in a phone booth.

Everything about him just stinks of class and he will be a great player for Liverpool for years to come.

He’ll be part of the Reds’ next generation of stars and while he’s that good, just wait until he’s fully adjusted to life and football in England.
