Marvin Gaye III’s wife is seeking a restraining order against him

Marvin Gaye III – Son of the late Motown icon Marvin Gaye — can no longer see or contact his wife after she applied for a court-ordered restraining order against him after he allegedly pointed a gun at her.

On Tuesday, Marvin’s wife, Wendy Gaye, rushed to the courthouse to seek a domestic violence restraining order against her husband, online records show.

TMZ reports that the protective order comes just days after he was arrested after he reportedly assaulted his wife and cousin during an argument at his home in Calabasas last Thursday (January 13).

Authorities had arrived and surrounded Gaye’s house before ordering him to leave, but he had already left in his Corvette before they arrived.

Eventually he turned himself in to the local sheriff’s office and was charged with two counts, one of domestic violence and the other of assault with a deadly weapon.

A singer and songwriter, Marvin Gaye was the father of three children – Nona Gaye, Frankie Gaye and Marvin Gaye III. While two of them are his biological children, there has been some debate as to whether or not Gaye III was adopted.
