Maryland men’s basketball loses to UAB in the Asheville Championship

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Eric Gaines scored 20 points and UAB used a 13-0 second-half run to defeat the Maryland men’s basketball team 66-63 and clinch third place in the Asheville Championship on Sunday afternoon.

DeShawn Harris-Smith’s game-winning three-point attempt was blocked at the buzzer. The Terps were 3 for 13 from the field in the final six minutes.
