McCarthy says the US debt ceiling agreement is popular with House Republicans

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said on Sunday he expects a debt ceiling agreement he has struck with the White House to garner the support of a majority of Republicans in the House of Representatives.

McCarthy told Fox News that more than 95% of House Republicans are very enthusiastic about the deal and that it includes pay-go restrictions that would prevent future legislation from boosting the deficit.
