Meet the stars performing the halftime show at Super Bowl 2022

Tonight’s Super Bowl is the culmination of the 2022 NFL season, but who will be performing at halftime this time around?

It’s one of the most coveted gigs in entertainment and sports: performing during halftime at the Super Bowl.

The biggest names have done it: Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas just to name a few.

In 2022, the Super Bowl will take place on February 13 at the SoFi Stadium in California.

Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals will play Matthew Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

But who will perform during halftime for Super Bowl 2022?

2022 Super Bowl tournament program

It was expected that each halftime show at the Super Bowl would be better than last year’s show.

In 2021, The Weeknd was honored, but some felt the performance lacked a bit of creativity and was not as good as Shakira and Lopez in 2020.

For 2022, however, the organizers of the Super Bowl tournament show have drawn some big guns.

The theme will largely be hip-hop, as five artists are lined up to perform.

They are:

  • Kendrick Lamar
  • Dr. Dre
  • Eminem
  • Mary J Blige
  • Snoop Dogg

Have any of them performed it before?

The 2022 Super Bowl halftime performance will be the first time any of the artists named above will perform at the show as featured.

Blige appeared as a special guest during Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 in Florida, supporting the title action Aerosmith.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation will again produce the show.

The game – Super Bowl LVI – will be broadcast on NBC, taking place on the second Sunday of February.

This will be the eighth Super Bowl to be held in the Greater Los Angeles area – and the first since Super Bowl XXVII in 1993.

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills 52-17 that day.
