Megan Fox stumbled at the end of the rainbow during an ayahuasca trip with Machine Gun Kelly

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly embarked on an ayahuasca retreat and the singer remembered it Costa Rica trip with Jimmy Kimmel.

Ayahuasca is one of the latest experiences gaining popularity among A-listers.

Forget Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop! Practices is about flying into the South American forest to be at one with nature as you embark on a journey of self-discovery.

MGK was Jimmy Kimmel’s latest guest to promote his new album Mainstream Sellout. But not without mentioning his ayahuasca journey with fiancé Megan Fox in 2021.

Megan Fox’s Ayahuasca trip was hell

While Megan wasn’t such a fan, MGK called the trip “one of the most important” events in life.

The 31-year-old required a much more intense experience having passed a “great shadow of darkness”, according to staff. MGK was presented with three additional cups of herbal medicine.

He claims that on the third night the shaman performed some kind of ritual on him while holding a bottle of tobacco water. The singer said this caused what appeared to be gray sand to come off his body.

However, his fiancee wanted to call it quits after two nights.

MGK recalled: “The first night, her [Megan] was like rainbows, unicorns – it was great. The second night she said, ‘I never want to see that again.’”

Megan spoke about it herself during her Jimmy Kimmel 2021 Lookhosted by Arsenio Hall.

The drug apparently put her in her “own psychological hell” because it “goes straight into your soul and puts you in the psychological prison you keep yourself in; It’s your own version of hell and I was definitely there,” she explained.

What is ayahuasca?

From the interviews, ayahuasca sounds like what happened in HBO’s drama 10 Perfect Strangers. However, shamans are probably not as scary as Nicole Kidman’s character.

The retreat serves the purpose of reconnecting with nature and healing from past trauma.

Experienced shamans lead ceremonies that mark the initiation of a brew from leaves of the shrub Psychotria viridis. The leaves are reported to have hallucinogenic properties, possibly causing out-of-body experiences and feelings of euphoria.

These retreats – usually held in Peru, Costa Rica and Brazil – are becoming increasingly popular with celebrities such as jim carrey, Chelsea’s handlers and Penn Badgley. Megan Fox stumbled at the end of the rainbow during an ayahuasca trip with Machine Gun Kelly
