Social media was abuzz Tuesday night over what appeared to be a very animated discussion between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Further confirmation that the incident was no big deal came from a report in Entertainment tonightSources told the outlet that Timberlake told Megan, “It’s so nice to meet you,” while Megan replied, “No, no, that doesn’t count, that doesn’t count, we need to meet properly.”
VMAs representatives Timberlake and Megan have not yet responded THRRequest for comments.
Timberlake joined the other members of NSYNC at the awards ceremony as surprise presenter of the Best Pop award. Nicki Minaj introduced the band, which included members Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, calling their reunion an “iconic moment.”
A little later, Megan took the stage with Cardi B, where the pair performed their new single “Bongos.”
