The devil is in the details
So what is a PUP list and what does it mean?
This is a list designation used by NFL teams for players who have suffered some type of injury during soccer-related activities prior to the start of training camp.
If a player is to be placed on the PUP roster, he or she must before the start of training camp or It can not be used at all.
This would account for the large number of Jets players (five) being put on the pre-camp roster.
The players on this list cannot train, however, they are allowed to attend team meetings and can use the team’s medical and training facilities.
Good news with the designation of this squad as a player can go out list at any time. Even after practicing a single training camp if they are considered ready to go.
Connor Hughes says this decision by Jets is “not a bad thing. Just give the team a little longer to catch up on the pace and conditions after missing the ‘offseason’ shows.
Current TV analyst and former longtime NFL player Damien Woody tweeted that the Jets’ decision was “pretty standard” and fans shouldn’t read too much into this one.
Bob is not great
Despite Woody’s public warning to Jets fans, that didn’t stop many of them from feeling nervous when the news was announced.
Many people have adopted the I will worry for him strategy until he is no longer an anxiety type of strategy.
A lot of the frustration that seems to exist from fans comes from the initial trauma timeline the Jets shared on Becton coming up in Week 1. If they never got that message out to the public, perhaps they would. We will all react very differently to the information given.
On the last episode of Podcasts can’t wait with Connor Hughes, he reiterated his report from over a month ago that Becton had appeared in a state of mandatory “overweight and out of shape” minicamp.
Hughes also said that one of the reasons Becton was injured in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers was because of his “fitness”.
On the tape, it appears to be an injury caused by a player rolling into the back of the leg. However, Hughes repeated the message he heard from inside the building on the matter.
