Melissa Gorga hits back at critics who say she doesn’t offer any plot for RHONJ

Melissa Gorga reacted to comments that she never got her own storyline on “Real Housewives of New Jersey”.

Joe Gorga’s wife officially joined the cast of reality show Bravo in 2011, two years after her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, made her debut on the show during its first season, per IMDb. But Gorga has long been accused of riding on Giudice’s tails – and she’s had enough. In an interview with Entertainment TonightGorga has defended herself against critics who say she has “no plot” or that her only role on the reality show is to speak ill of her co-star.

“I always thought it was funny, even Andy Cohen always said, he was like, ‘Where did this whole plot come from?’ I like, “The fans made it!” “The fans think that unless your husband cheats on you, or you’re Erika Jayne or you’re in jail or you rob a bank, you shouldn’t be on Housewives. Because. So, they just want all the villains, they don’t want any normal people to have a normal life and show their family.It’s “Housewives”, not, like, “The Wives of the Crowd!”

Right from the start, Gorga has been accused of being involved in other actors’ backstory, most notably through a TV series with her sister-in-law. According to BravoTV.comat BravoCon in 2019, Giudice even accused Gorga of participating in the show behind her back by using the story of a family vacation get-together to gain the attention of the online community.

“She came in on Christmas Eve, she was pregnant, she brought pretzels, you know, from ShopRite – in plastic containers!” Giudice said recall. “So I said to her nicely, I said, ‘Next time, bring cookies. So she made it into this whole big deal, put it on Facebook, and she caught Bravo’s attention. And the rest is history.”

Giudice added that she only “forgave” her brother and his wife for the sake of her parents. But for years, viewers accused Gorga of posing as a Housewife.

“Nothing has changed in a decade, they still use Teresa for the plot,” another person more by Gorgas.

“Lord knows she tried so many fake storylines without success,” one comment on Instagram.

With 10 seasons over, Gorga says she’s “good” with her plot – or lacks it – but she notes that she has a busy life that could provide plenty of material for RHONJ.

“I can’t control what they put in, what they didn’t put in,” she told ET of Bravo editors.

“It’s confusing to show that I have three kids, I have a life, I have a husband, I’m having a hard time building my small business,” she added. “I have a sister-in-law with whom I fight?”

She also noted that when the other members talk about her, she is providing surname with material.

“I laughed because, when they told me that, I waited, [this season] open to everyone talking about us! ” the RHONJ star pointed out. “It opens with Teresa and [her daughters] about us, so what does that mean? Am I? your plot now? So when you see, like Jennifer and Bill [Aydin] or Teresa is talking about us, that means I of them plot? I mean no! That ‘plot’ thing is ridiculous. It’s always been like that, it’s just silly. “
